Court Fines Bryansk Businessman for Selling Antisemitic Film

A court in Bryansk, Russia fined a local businessman 25,000 rubles (approximately $1,000) for selling an antisemitic DVD, according to a July 22, 2008 report by the web site Jewish.ru. Dmitry Kovalyov, owner of the "Patriot" store, reportedly urged his customers to buy the film "Russia With a Knife in Its Back: Jewish Fascism and the Genocide of the Russian People." Prosecutors charged him with violating Article 282 of the criminal code, which prohibits the incitement of ethnic hatred.
