Vandals responsible for the desecration of graves in a Jewish cemetery in Bukhara, Uzbekistan have been arrested, according to a June 6, 2003 report in the Uzbekistani newspaper Pravda Vostoka. The article quoted Bukharan Jewish organizations thanking the authorities for the culprits, whose actions caused the community “serious concern and anxiety.”
